Legislature funds Berger Fountain

$1.8 million included in bonding bill

The Minnesota bonding bill passed in the House and Senate at 11:53 p.m. on May 17, 2026, securing $1.8 million for the restoration of the Berger Fountain, also known as the Dandelion Fountain, in Loring Park.

The Citizens For A Loring Park Community announced the funding in an email on Monday morning. 

"Thank you to everyone! All funders, all supporters and to Richard Anderson for carrying and keeping Berger Fountain in every plan for 34 years! Thank you Senator Scott Dibble. Thank you Rep Katie Jones. Thank you Commissioner Jason Garcia. Thank you Berger Task Force! Thank you Pat Davies, Dave Hile, Mary Bujold, Jonathan Soyer, and Jana Metge for seeing this thru! Thank you Damon Farber and MPRB for all the work, the planning, the design development. Thank you to Friends of Loring Park and CLPC!"
