“At Lake Harriet Lower Elementary, we believe that learning extends beyond the classroom walls,” said Lake Harriet Lower Elementary Principal Angie Ness. “Our new outdoor learning gardens will provide a setting for our students to explore, discover and connect with the world around them. We are dedicated to nurturing well-rounded, curious and environmentally-conscious students, and this space will be instrumental in achieving that goal.” A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Friday, Sept. 15, 2023. The space features a native rain garden, raised garden beds, tunnel paths, student-created art installations and an outdoor classroom.
