Air regulations
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is drafting new air toxics regulations that will apply to industrial facilities in the seven-county metropolitan area. They expect the new rules to establish clear, enforceable standards that will require facilities to monitor, report, and comply with stricter pollution restrictions that will help improve air quality. They are accepting feedback during a public comment period that ends Friday, Aug. 22. Visit www.pca.state.mn.us/get-engaged/air-toxics-regulations  to learn more.

BOYCOTT, DIVESTMENT, SANCTIONS
On Saturday, July 19, 2025, the Minneapolis Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (DFL) passed a resolution amending their official platform to include support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement at the municipal level. BDS is an international, Palestinian-led movement that has called for “international civil society organizations and people of conscience all over the world to impose broad boycotts and implement divestment initiatives against Israel similar to those applied to South Africa in the apartheid era.”
This resolution was written and brought to the Minneapolis DFL convention by members of Twin Cities DSA, signed by hundreds of DFL delegates, and passed with an overwhelming majority of votes.
“While opposing a ceasefire, Mayor Frey and his administration have also funneled our tax dollars towards a contract with the Israeli surveillance company Zencity. This tech company, which was founded by a former Israeli military intelligence officer, gathers data from Minneapolis residents and reports it to the Minneapolis Police Department,” say supporters.
