“I have had no fewer than 50 phone calls or text messages within the last few hours from friends and people around this country saying ‘Greta, you and your son hare not safe right now.’ Your address has been published online and people are inciting violence against you and your family,” Minneapolis Federation of Teachers 59 (MFT59) President Greta Callahan said during a rally at the Minnesota State Capital on Wednesday, March 9. The 3,500 staff members of the state’s second largest school district went on strike on Tuesday, March 8 for the first time in 50 years. Minneapolis Public School negotiators showed up without a new offer today, pointed out Callahan. The district’s offer has not changed despite multiple days of negotiating.
